Regulatory Sandboxes: a catalyst for innovation in Finance
As of 2016, many countries in the world have implemented a Regulatory Sandbox, which can be defined as the experimentation of activities regulated by the banking, finance and insurance regulation. The article analyses the role of the Sandbox, its context and implications, the way it can help Fintech startups in testing their innovative products and services, and the current European and Italian situation. The article also provides data taken from a survey conducted by the Fintech & Insurtech Observatory of Politecnico di Milano about how Italian startups perceive the creation of an Italian Sandbox.
